Twitter reaches $150 million out-of-court settlement over misuse of user data

 Titanium Media App May 27 News, The Wall Street Journal reported on May 27 that Twitter agreed on Wednesday to accept new oversight and a $150 million fine to settle a federal privacy lawsuit between a large technology company and Biden. The first major deal between the government's Federal Trade Commission (FTC). The FTC has said it will monitor data misuse more aggressively.  Federal prosecutors say Twitter collected phone numbers and email addresses for account security measures and then fed that information into its advertising tools, a latter additional use the government said Twitter did not disclose the data. The alleged activity violates a 2011 consent order between the FTC and Twitter, under which Twitter must not misreport how it uses an individual's contact information.
