The 2022 Winter Fuel Outlook released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) on the 12th local time shows that average U.S. household heating fuel expenditures will increase this winter due to expected higher fuel costs and cooler temperatures. About half of U.S. households rely on natural gas for heating, and the average winter heating cost for those households is expected to rise to $931, a 28 percent increase from last year, the U.S. Energy Information Administration said. Meanwhile, the EIA expects U.S. households to spend 27% more on oil heating, 10% on electric heating and 5% on propane from October this year to March next year. (CCTV News)
