Ericsson’s official website issued a statement on July 15, saying that Ericsson’s acquisition of cloud communications vendor Vonage has been approved by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CIFUS), the last necessary approval to complete the acquisition. Ericsson said the two parties now expect the acquisition to be completed no later than July 21 this year. Ericsson announced in November last year that it would acquire Vonage for $6.2 billion in cash. “This acquisition underscores Ericsson’s strategy to expand its business and global product offering in the wireless enterprise space.” Ericsson said at the time that Vonage had a solid track record of growth and margin development.
