According to the semi-annual economic forecast data released by the Peterson Institute for International Economics, a well-known think tank, on the 6th, the US economy will grow by 1.7% this year and shrink by 0.5% next year. Karen Dynan, a senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics and a professor at Harvard University, said that nearly a year of slow economic growth has not led to a significant drop in inflation, and it now appears that the U.S. economy may slip into recession. Dainan expects the U.S. unemployment rate to peak at 5.5 percent next year. The forecast data released by the think tank on the same day also showed that the overall global economic growth will slow down significantly. (Financial Association)
