We moved from Syracuse to Dallas at the end of May. We chose to drive our own car and tow a UHaul 5×8 trailer. The entire itinerary is divided into 4 days, passing through Mansfield OH, Nashville TN and Little Rock AR.

Before departing from Syracuse, I checked every item according to the pre-listed checklist, including the connection of the trailer (pin, ball mount, coupler, safety chain, wiring), tires, locks, two cats’ leashes, AirTag , important luggage and so on. The only thing I skipped was the lights, however, as they were tested upon pick-up, so I figured the lights should work fine as long as they are plugged in.

The end of the first day is Mansfield OH, about 7 hours drive from Syracuse. We stopped for dinner and gas as we passed through a small town near Cleveland OH. It was almost dark at that time, because I skipped the light inspection when I set off at noon, I was always a little worried. So I went to check the trailer tail light and it turned out that the light was not coming on.
