Vietnamese PM visits U.S. to meet Cook, asks Apple to include more Vietnamese companies in its supply chain

 Titanium Media App reported on May 19, Taiwan’s Economic Daily quoted Bloomberg on May 19 as saying that the government’s official website announcement showed that during Vietnam’s visit to California, Prime Minister Pham Minh Zheng met with Apple CEO Cook and asked him in person. Include more Vietnamese companies in Apple's supply chain. Cook said Apple is interested in partnering with Vietnamese manufacturers that meet the company's standards.  Hon Hai will partially move iPad and MacBook production to Vietnam, and as Apple shifts part of its supply chain, it is expected to boost the local economic prosperity in Vietnam.  Another announcement on the official website of the Vietnamese government said that Amphenol, which supplies electronic components to Boeing, Apple and Tesla, may also relocate some of its production lines to Vietnam, but did not elaborate.
