Wasmtime 1.0 released

Version 1.0 of the Wasmtime WebAssembly runtime is released , which means it is production-ready. WebAssembly or wasm originated from the Asm.js project initiated by Mozilla. It is designed to complement JavaScript and can provide faster compilation and execution than JavaScript, making it possible to run high-performance web applications on browsers. Wasmtime is an independent runtime project for WebAssembly, initiated by the Bytecode Alliance, which can run WebAssembly code outside the Web, and is designed to be a configurable and embeddable runtime that can run on any application. Developers cite multiple projects that use Wasmtime: Shopify’s WebAssembly engine has a 50% performance improvement after switching to Wasmtime; Fastly has a 50% performance improvement after switching to Wasmtime, with an increase of 72% to 163% in requests per second; etc. Wait.
