Hi, this is Topbook and I’m Gao Yi. We opened a bookstore in Chongqing, but we don’t sell books, so you can think of it as a small library.
From the initial 1000+ plan to the subsequent addictive model, sleep, alarm clock, chair… Pomodoro technique, GTD time management… AI tool interpretation, etc., Topbook has been focusing on digital tools and technologies and how they affect life, But we have always known that the brain is the best digital life tool, and books are its best nourishment. So we made this little library.
Today in 2023, being a bookstore is not a good business. You can hear news of bookstore closures every few days. On the other hand, digital tools and technologies are shattering and reconstructing the world. can’t escape…
How can an ordinary person live a little better in such a digital life? After several years of practice, my immature answer is – don’t give up two kinds of books, flow books and systematic books. Today’s information changes have long exceeded the speed of book publishing, and paper books are just a form, so even if you don’t buy books, you still have a mobile book, the point is that you have to make this book yourself . And the knowledge, experience, and thinking that have been accumulated over the years are still in systematic, paper books, so don’t give up reading.
In the past few years, I have been fortunate enough to obtain a lot of resources. Knowing that we are going to open a bookstore, some publishers contacted us to provide books for free, but they all declined. Because I want these books to come from you. I hope to work with you to build this small library with the theme of “how can an ordinary person live a better life in such a digital life”. If there is a book that has shaped you, answered you, and questioned you, then this book may be worth shaping others, answering others, and questioning others. I figured that a small library of 10,000 of these books, or even just 1,000, would be more meaningful than my self-righteous selection.

some notes
- If you have not received a reply by email, please do not send it lightly to avoid loss of books;
- Please do not pay on delivery when sending books, as you have suffered similar fraud before and refused to pay on delivery;
- Chongqing locals can bring books to the store after receiving the email, make an appointment in advance, and welcome at any time;
- We will try our best to keep the books well, the store is in the book, but accidents are inevitable, please know;
- We will not use books for any sales business, but in order to maintain expenses, drinks or other commodities may be sold in the library (currently there is no clear profit model), please know;
- We will try our best to operate, but there are unpredictable things. If one day the bookstore closes down, we will try our best to keep the books. If it is still useless after doing our best, we will deal with it in other forms, such as donations, please know.
What kind of books fit the theme
If people refer to books, there is no distinction between high and low books, but they must meet the theme. At least three years of college entrance examination and five years of simulation cannot be included; accept bestsellers and reference books, but do not accept thick black studies, success studies, etc. Fickle book.
