Recently, the James Webb Space Telescope released an image of NGC 7469, a spiral galaxy in the constellation Pegasus 220 million light-years from Earth. The galaxy is dusty, but infrared observations with the Webb Space Telescope reveal features such as a dense star-forming ring near its bright center. NGC 7469 is a spiral galaxy with a diameter of about 90,000 light-years. The bright star cluster ring in the center indicates that there is an active supermassive black hole inside NGC 7469, and there are small galaxies approaching next to the NGC 7469 galaxy. Scientists believe that Observing changes in NGC 7469 reveals details of galaxy mergers. (CCTV News)
