Statistics from Statcounter for October show that Windows 11 still lags far behind Windows 10 in popularity a year after its release. The current market share of Windows 11 is 15.44%, an increase of 1.83% from the previous month, while the market share of Windows 10 is 71.29%, only a slight decrease of 0.59% from 71.88% of the previous month. Windows 7 still has 9.61%, Windows 8.1 is fourth with 2.45%, Windows 8 is 0.69% and Windows XP is 0.39%. Windows accounted for 76% of the global desktop operating system, followed by OS X with 15.7% and Linux with 2.6%. If mobile operating systems are included, Android accounts for up to 42.37%, Windows 30.11%, iOS 17.6%, OS X 6.24%, and Linux 1.04%.
