In the past week, starting from the political arena in Taiwan, there have been a number of sexual harassment/coercion incidents that have been publicly identified by victims. The first accused, Li Zhenghao, is a Democratic Progressive Party nominee for parliament and is suspected of threatening his ex-girlfriend by secretly filming private images. ; Later, many staff members and party workers within the DPP were also accused of harassment and crimes. Victims in various fields have also begun to respond to this #metoo movement, including many famous people in the literary, legal, medical and social circles.

During the #metoo movement in Europe and the United States, Taiwan has never ignited a prairie fire. This time it finally set off a little wave, but will it last? What changes might it bring? Welcome to pay close attention to the world, we will strive to provide practical analysis point of view!

Yesterday (6/4) was the 24th anniversary of the June 4th Tiananmen Square incident. In previous years, there were large-scale events in Hong Kong every year. After the implementation of the “National Security Law”, it became illegal. However, there were still many sporadic people spontaneously holding commemorative activities yesterday, and finally at least 20 pro-democracy figures were arrested by the police, including Chen Baoying, chairman of the important opposition party “Social Democratic Link”, Wang Fengyao, a celebrity in the anti-extradition movement “Grandma Wang”, and others.

Taiwan University graduate student Liu Jiayi was also arrested, but fortunately she was released on bail. On the 3rd, Liu Jiayi wore a top with “Truth” written on it, cross-sealed it with tape, and held 6 white roses and 4 red roses. She is expected to go on a hunger strike for 89,643.4 seconds from 6:04 pm to express her condolences for the June 4 incident. She and her friend were subsequently arrested by the police under the name of “suspected of acts with seditious intent”.
