Gallup surveys show that more and more Americans admit to excessive cell phone use. In 2015, 39% of people felt that they were spending too much time on their phones; today that number has increased to 58%. People of all ages expressed concern. The findings come from a self-administered online survey of more than 30,000 US adults in January and February of this year. In the survey, 97% said they had a smartphone, up from 81% in 2015; while admitting to overuse, nearly two-thirds said smartphones had improved their lives, with 21% saying Much improvement, 44% said a slight improvement. 12% said smartphones made their lives worse, double the rate in 2015.
