Summary
The market space of aluminum materials for automotive heat transfer is broad: in the context of lightweight and electrification, aluminum materials are cost-effective as automotive heat transfer materials. The density of aluminum is 2.7g/cm3, which is only 34% of the density of steel and 30% of the density of copper. The hardness of pure aluminum is soft, but the strength is greatly improved after adding alloying elements, and the shape is excellent, and it can be processed into complex shapes. It is an excellent lightweight material for automobiles. At the same time, aluminum is a good conductor of heat: the thermal conductivity of pure aluminum is 237W/mK, pure copper is 398W/mK, pure silver is 411W/mK, and iron is 73W/mK. Compared with silver and copper, the price-performance ratio is outstanding.
Aluminum alloys are widely used in automotive heat exchange systems, such as engine radiators, oil radiators, intercoolers, air conditioner condensers and evaporators, etc. Extruded round tubes, flat tubes and porous flat tubes, welded round tubes and flat tubes are available in a wide variety of specifications. The aluminum content of each passenger car and light truck heat exchange system is at least 15KG. Driven by the new battery cooling, heat pump system and other electrification upgrades of new energy vehicles, the thermal management system has formed an incremental market, which has also brought more demand and higher quality requirements for aluminum materials for heat transmission. According to the statistics of relevant agencies, the amount of aluminum heat transfer material for a new energy vehicle can reach 20-25KG, which is 10KG/vehicle higher than that of traditional fuel vehicles.
Industry structure: This industry started late in my country, but it is developing rapidly. From a global perspective, foreign manufacturers of aluminum brazing composite materials include Grangis and Aconic, and domestic manufacturers include Huafeng Aluminum, Yinbang Co., Ltd., Changlu Co., Ltd., and Yongjie New Materials. The top three in the global scale are Grangis, Huafeng Aluminum, and Yinbang, with a high concentration of production in the industry. The industry leader Grundis has a market share of about 20% in the global automotive aluminum brazing composite material.
Market space: The market space of aluminum brazing composite materials in the new car field is about 900,000 tons. Considering the annual demand of the automobile maintenance market is 300,000 tons, the market space of aluminum brazing composite materials in the global automotive industry is about 1.2 million tons per year. In the long run, the increase in the global penetration rate of new energy vehicles is expected to double the demand for aluminum heat transfer materials.
