According to Cnbeta reports, Walmart will allow stores to shut down its Automatic Inventory Ordering (ISA) system given the severe inventory overhang that has plagued the company in recent months, according to an internal Walmart memo.
The memo was reportedly issued on Saturday. The inventory system has created countless problems for stores, including ordering more items that are already in store inventory, the memo shows. Depending on how overloaded the store is, store managers can decide whether to keep the ISA, or close the ISA for general merchandise but keep the ISA for food and consumables, or close the ISA entirely. The memo also describes various inventory procedures that stores should complete before opting to close the ISA.
