Today, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the economic operation of the communications industry from January to July 2022. From January to July, the total telecommunications business revenue reached 944.2 billion yuan, an increase of 8.3% year-on-year, and the growth rate was the same as that in the first half of the year. The total amount of telecommunications business calculated at the constant price of the previous year increased by 22.2% year-on-year.

Among them, mobile Internet traffic grew rapidly. From January to July, the cumulative mobile Internet traffic reached 146.3 billion GB, a year-on-year increase of 19.1%.

In terms of mobile phone users, as of the end of July, the total number of mobile phone users of the three basic telecommunications companies reached 1.672 billion, a net increase of 29.41 million over the end of the previous year. Among them, 5G mobile phone users reached 475 million, a net increase of 120 million compared with the end of the previous year, accounting for 28.4% of the mobile phone users, an increase of 6.8 percentage points compared with the end of the previous year.

Revenue from telecommunications business maintained steady growth, and total telecommunications business maintained double-digit growth. From January to July, telecommunications business revenue totaled 944.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.3%, and the growth rate was the same as that in the first half of the year. Fixed Internet broadband business revenue grew steadily. From January to July, the Internet broadband business income of the three basic telecommunications companies was 142.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.3%, accounting for 15.1% of the telecommunications business income, an increase of 0.1 percentage points compared with the first half of the year, driving the telecommunications business income to grow by 1.4%. percent.

Mobile data traffic business revenue grew at a low rate. From January to July, the three basic telecommunications companies completed mobile data traffic business income of 386.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.5%, accounting for 40.9% of the telecommunications business income, driving the telecommunications business income to increase by 0.2 percentage points.

Income from emerging businesses maintained rapid growth. The three basic telecommunications companies are actively developing emerging businesses such as IPTV, Internet data centers, big data, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things. From January to July, they achieved a total revenue of 184.3 billion yuan from emerging businesses, a year-on-year increase of 35.1%. 19.5%, driving a 5.5 percentage point increase in telecom business revenue. Among them, cloud computing and big data revenue increased by 131.7% and 60.3% year-on-year respectively, data center business revenue increased by 16.5% year-on-year, and IoT business revenue increased by 25.9% year-on-year.

The decline in voice business revenue narrowed slightly. From January to July, the three basic telecommunications companies completed fixed voice and mobile voice business revenue of 12.18 billion yuan and 67.3 billion yuan, down 10.1% and 3.8% year-on-year, respectively, 0.7 and 0.6 percentage points lower than the first half of the year. The total revenue accounted for 8.4%, a decrease of 1.2 percentage points compared with the same period last year.

The scale of fixed broadband access users grew steadily, and the number of gigabit users continued to expand. As of the end of July, the total number of fixed Internet broadband access users of the three basic telecommunications companies reached 566 million, a net increase of 30.7 million over the end of the previous year. Among them, fixed Internet broadband access users with an access rate of 100Mbps and above reached 531 million, accounting for 93.8% of the total number of users, accounting for an increase of 0.8 percentage points compared with the end of the previous year; fixed Internet broadband access users with an access rate of 1000Mbps and above The number of households reached 65.70 million, a net increase of 31.12 million over the end of the previous year, accounting for 11.6% of the total number of users.

The scale of mobile phone users has increased steadily, and 5G users have developed rapidly. As of the end of July, the total number of mobile phone users of the three basic telecommunications companies reached 1.672 billion, a net increase of 29.41 million over the end of the previous year. Among them, 5G mobile phone users reached 475 million, a net increase of 120 million compared with the end of the previous year, accounting for 28.4% of the mobile phone users, an increase of 6.8 percentage points compared with the end of the previous year.

The Internet of Things users accounted for nearly half of the mobile network connection terminals, and the number of IPTV users increased steadily. As of the end of July, the three basic telecommunications companies had developed 1.667 billion cellular IoT end users, a net increase of 270 million over the end of the previous year, accounting for 49.9% of the number of mobile network terminal connections (including mobile phone users and cellular IoT end users). %. The construction of broadband network was steadily advanced, and the service capability of gigabit network continued to improve. As of the end of July, the number of Internet broadband access ports nationwide reached 1.043 billion, a net increase of 25.6 million over the end of the previous year. Among them, optical fiber access (FTTH/O) ports reached 995 million, a net increase of 35.04 million over the end of the previous year, accounting for 95.4% of the Internet broadband access ports, an increase of 1.1 percentage points over the end of the previous year. As of the end of July, the number of 10G PON ports with gigabit network service capabilities reached 11.61 million, a net increase of 3.757 million over the end of the previous year.

5G network construction is advancing rapidly. As of the end of July, the total number of 5G base stations reached 1.968 million, accounting for 18.8% of the total number of mobile base stations, an increase of 4.5 percentage points from the end of the previous year. Among them, 543,000 new 5G base stations were built from January to July.

The eastern region has a large lead in the scale of gigabit and above access users. As of the end of July, the penetration rates of 100Mbps and above fixed broadband access users in the eastern, central, western and northeastern regions were 93.4%, 94.8%, 93.3% and 93.8% respectively, and the broadband access users with 1000Mbps and above access rates reached 3,464 respectively. 13.278 million, 16.35 million and 1.434 million households.

The 5G construction and user ratio in the eastern region are leading. As of the end of July, the number of 5G base stations in the eastern, central, western and northeastern regions reached 946,000, 420,000, 479,000, and 123,000, respectively, accounting for 20.8%, 18.3%, 16.3%, and 17.7% of the total number of mobile phone base stations in the region. 5G mobile phone users reached 211.57 million, 110.18 million, 121.99 million and 30.91 million respectively, accounting for 29.1%, 28.6%, 27.6% and 26.1% of the total mobile phone users in the region.

The growth rate of mobile Internet access traffic in the central region leads the way, and the DOU value of some western provinces ranks among the top in the country. From January to July, the mobile Internet access traffic in the eastern, central, western and northeastern regions reached 62.21 billion GB, 33.06 billion GB, 43.46 billion GB and 7.55 billion GB respectively, a year-on-year increase of 19.1%, 20.5%, 19.4% and 12.5%. The average mobile Internet access (DOU) per household in the four provinces of Tibet, Qinghai, Xinjiang and Yunnan exceeded 20GB/household-month in July; the difference between the highest and the lowest DOU value in each province was 15.8GB/household-month, and the difference was relatively high. In the same period last year, it expanded by 2.4GB / household and month.
