Intel announced that it will replace the Pentium and Celeron brands with Intel processors in the laptop market starting in 2023, simplifying consumers’ choice of low-end products. Intel’s flagship product brands are concentrated in three: Core, Evo and vPro, and entry-level products will use the Intel processor name. The earliest product of the Pentium brand was released in 1993. It was a high-end brand at first, but since 2006, Intel used Core/Core as its flagship product brand, and Pentium was repositioned as a mid-range brand. The Celeron was launched five years after the Pentium was released in 1998 and was aimed at the lower end of the market. The latest Celeron processors are mostly used in Chromebooks and budget laptops.
