The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic have started rolling out a new software update that adds the ability to adjust camera zoom controls through the Camera Controller app. However, to use this feature, the connected smartwatch needs to be running One UI 5.1, which has not been released for any Galaxy smartphones yet. The One UI 5.1 update is expected to roll out a few days after the launch of the Galaxy S23 series.
The update also brings new device diagnostic tools and some stability fixes. New diagnostic tools allow checking that components of the smartwatch such as battery condition, display, microphone, speaker and charging are working as expected. To use the new features, users need to use the Samsung Members app on a connected smartphone.
IT Home learned that the Galaxy Watch 4 series software update firmware version micro R8x0XXU1GWA3, the download size is 329MB. The update also brings the January 2023 security patch to the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. New software updates are being made at the same time as updates to the Galaxy Wearable app.
