At the end of March, my eyes were uncomfortable, and I felt that it was related to the excessive use of mobile phones, so I planned to buy an e-reader instead of the mobile phone, and change the mobile phone I took out of my pocket into a reader. This reader needs to be placed in the pocket every day. Like a mobile phone, it has very high requirements for portability.
Another requirement is the openness of the system. A completely open Android system is the best. You can install any reading app according to your needs, but if it is closed, at least you must be able to pre-install WeChat reading, because I mainly use WeChat reading.
At first I bought iReader Light2, which can be installed on WeChat for reading. The 6-inch screen is close to my iPhone 12, and the size is right. But after getting it, I found that the frame is too wide, and the actual body size is very large, square, and there is no sense of holding a mobile phone at all. Because of the thick border, the 6-inch screen looks very small, and the reading experience is average. So it was returned directly.
At this time, I found Hisense’s Hi Reader, which happened to be a 10 billion subsidy activity in JD.com. The original price was 1499 yuan, and after the subsidy, it only costs 999 yuan. Although it is still much more expensive than the iReader Light2, it is worth a try because it is a Hisense ink screen mobile phone. Downgraded product means:

Let me talk about the conclusion first. I have been using it for a full month now. I have read a few books and I am very satisfied . I take it with me wherever I go. It is basically realized that I can use it instead of a mobile phone when I want to play with it. Let’s talk about it.

In terms of portability, which I am most concerned about, the key difference between the two is the width. iReader Light2 has only a 6-inch screen, which has a width of 110.6 mm. Hi Reader has a 6.7-inch screen, which is only 86.6 mm wide. The portability crushes iReader Light2; Hi Reader has advantages in screen size, resolution and ppi, and the reading experience is better. (I would prefer a 6-inch Hi Reader if possible)
For comparison, the iPhone 14 Pro Max also has a 6.7-inch screen, a body size of 160.7 x 77.6 x 7.8 , and a weight of 240g. Hi Reader is only slightly larger in size, but much lighter in weight. Carrying it is no more troublesome than carrying an iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Comparing iReader Light2 and Hi Reader together is not fair in terms of pricing or positioning. iReader Light2 is a pure reader, the system is semi-encapsulated, only a few applications can be installed, and the performance is poor. But Hi Reader is an Android phone without the sim card and camera functions. Its processor, memory and other configurations are much better than iReader Light2. You can install any Android application, some online evaluation videos, and even directly use it to play King of Glory.
As far as my usage scenario is concerned, the performance of Hi Reader is seriously excessive, and the price is too high. If it is not for the 10 billion subsidy of 999 yuan, I may not buy it.
In terms of battery life, I only installed WeChat reading, which is only used for reading, and the 3000mAH battery is completely sufficient. I recharge it almost once a week or two. I haven’t calculated it specifically. It is estimated that I can read for more than ten hours continuously.
In addition, there are some small details that are icing on the cake:
