Two days ago, I cheered for the neighbor’s flower shop and asked my daughter to buy a few flowers. A peony was placed on the cabinet at home. The next day, the flower was full of water and bloomed layer by layer. I smelled it closely, and the smell was not consistent with the “should” aroma of the peony flower in my memory. Even the image of “Flower Fragrance” itself, I’m not sure if I’m clear. Thinking about it, since the outbreak of the plague, I seem to have neglected the constant calibration of taste, which is really wrong as a practitioner.
I quickly baked a newly bought Colombian bean, ground it, brewed it, smelled it, and tasted it. The wisps of smell that were neglected in the past are indeed floral fragrances. And then screened from the expanded range of floral fragrances, gardenia, chamomile… Those faint but clear fragrances were also captured one by one. With this energy, I took out a few more beans with the same floral fragrance for testing. From this—I don’t know whether it’s forgotten or brand new—perceived from this perspective, I can really discern more layers of floral fragrance. It’s really interesting that the things that are originally independent and complete in life are connected to each other and affect each other.
