Titanium Media App reported on September 2 that at 10:00 on September 2, the Jinan Intermediate People’s Court in Shandong Province publicly announced the second instance of the defendant Zhang Guo’s compulsory molestation appeal, and ruled to reject the appeal and uphold the original judgment. On June 22, 2022, the People's Court of Huaiyin District, Jinan City, Shandong Province made a first-instance verdict, convicting Zhang Guo, the defendant in the original trial, for the crime of forced indecency and sentenced him to one year and six months in prison. After the sentence was pronounced, Zhang Guo appealed. The Intermediate People's Court of Jinan City, Shandong Province accepted the case on July 5, and formed a collegial panel in accordance with the law to conduct a comprehensive review of the facts, evidence and applicable law identified in the first instance, fully protecting the litigation rights of Zhang Guo and other litigation participants. The Intermediate People's Court of Jinan City, Shandong Province held that the appellant Zhang Guo violated the will of women and molested the victim while the victim was intoxicated, and his actions constituted the crime of compulsory molestation according to law. The grounds for appeal and defense opinions put forward by Zhang Guo and his defenders have no factual and legal basis and cannot be established. The facts of the crime identified in the first-instance verdict are clear, the evidence is reliable and sufficient, the conviction is accurate, the sentencing is appropriate, and the trial procedure is legal.
