According to reports, recently Amazon has begun to promote its palmprint payment technology AmazonOne on a large scale. Customers can use this “wave to pay” to check out at 65 Whole Foods supermarkets in California, USA. This is Amazon’s largest promotion since Amazon One launched in 2020. Amazon One allows customers to access the relevant user interface of Amazon’s kiosks, store palm scan images, and then use the palm print to perform a quick checkout. Amazon also said that palm photos taken on Amazon One kiosks are not stored locally, they are encrypted and sent to Amazon One’s dedicated cloud servers. (TechWeb)
