Apple slows acquisitions sharply amid economic downturn and government scrutiny

 Titanium Media App reported on August 8 that Apple ’s documents submitted to the regulatory authorities showed that in the past two years, Apple has significantly slowed down the pace of mergers and acquisitions. Apple has become more discerning amid a sluggish economy and heightened government scrutiny. Regulatory filings show Apple's acquisition-related expenses in fiscal 2021 are just $33 million, compared with $169 million in the first nine months of this fiscal year, which ends in June 2022. By comparison, Apple's related expenses for fiscal 2020 were as high as $1.5 billion. Previously, Apple acquired a startup on average every 3-4 weeks. This year, Apple has made only two known acquisitions, financial startup Credit Kudos and artificial intelligence music company AI Music.
