We tell stories all the time, and we are the protagonists. We set a role for ourselves, choose a mask, decide on a character, and then play this role without hesitation. The problem, however, is that we don’t know it all.

Most people are unaware of the huge role stories play in their lives, precisely because we are unaware that we are living according to some script of our own. However, it is the story that shapes everything.

For example, the following feelings you feel come from the stories you tell yourself:

  • resentment towards a relative or co-worker
  • Guilt after broken promises
  • Overwhelmed by daily chores
  • Anxiety about the uncertainty of the world
  • stay in your old habits
  • escape your difficult task
  • bored or lonely
