When it comes to the word “Enlightenment”, many people will think of the “Enlightenment Movement” that took place in Europe in the 18th century. This was a philosophical and cultural movement, and it was also the emancipation of human beings after the “Renaissance Movement”. If the “Renaissance Movement” freed people from the shackles of religious thought, then the “Enlightenment” movement allowed people to use reason to understand the world. In Kant’s words: “Enlightenment is the release of human beings from the immaturity that they have imposed on themselves, and the immature state is the inability to exercise their own reason without the guidance of others.”
