Environmental protection and communism

Recently, I have often seen news about European environmentalists. Just today, I saw the video “Environmentalists rush into the Dutch airport to prevent planes from taking off” on station B. I had some ideas and decided to share them.

First, from China’s standpoint, I consider Western environmentalists to be friendly forces.

  1. China’s transition to ecological civilization, carbon peaking, and carbon neutrality, environmentalists can help China lead the world’s new development direction
  2. Environmental protection advocates an endogenous concept of equality, and both rich and poor should be responsible for the environment and reduce energy consumption and emissions. This can be seen in the issue of emissions from the wealthy’s private jets.
  3. A truly environmentally friendly and sustainable society must be an economical society with on-demand production. On-demand production means connecting the consumer end and the production end with medicines, and the consumer end leading the production. I think this is a new direction for the transformation of production relations, and the result is a natural orientation. Allocate on demand. I think the development of Marxism needs to absorb the concept of ecological environmental protection, because Engels based the distribution of needs on the possibility of infinite expansion of production, which is objectively impossible, because the needs of people are constantly developing, even if the The demand for daily necessities is also constantly iterating, but the resource environment is limited. This trend can also be seen from the scientific outlook on development and the concept of “two mountains” proposed by the central government. If we can further integrate communism and environmentalism, so that the two go hand in hand and achieve the same goal in different ways, we can even turn environmentalism as a path and weapon to realize communism, and gather more comrades under the banner of environmental protection.

Secondly, from the point of view of class analysis, this matter will be more interesting.
The millionaires who own private jets are undoubtedly bourgeois. The contradiction behind the rise of the environmental protection movement is that the bourgeoisie consumes resources without restraint and destroys the environment in order to produce profits and pursue enjoyment, which has seriously threatened the survival of all people.
This contradiction became so acute that other classes and even some progressive bourgeoisie began to struggle for survival. Environmental protection is a banner, and there must be businessmen who sneak in to make money, but most people are really fighting. The form of struggle may be very naive, just like the original labor movement, but this is just a lack of scientific theoretical guidance, and the progressive nature of the movement itself cannot be denied.

Therefore, how to view the European environmental protection movement is actually a matter of position. Whether it is very good or bad, or it is not a matter of personal concern depends on our position.
