Ready to install condenser mic
I searched for a lot of equipment on YouTube, Bilibili, Zhihu and other platforms, and read a lot of reviews, and I got a basic understanding of some comparisons of the characteristics of dynamic coils and capacitors. But I was overconfident about the acoustic conditions of my room and was still going to buy a condenser microphone.
The order for Behringer bm1 was placed in the evening of 2023-09-04, and the platform was a JD third-party store (but JD Express). The seller heard that I was a fan of Bilibili and gave me a 50 yuan coupon. Since I didn’t need the built-in stand, I also asked him for a 6.5mm to 3.5mm adapter. So I am very much looking forward to receiving the goods.
I really like the appearance of the product when I received it. It is small but very heavy, giving it a very solid and stable feel. The workmanship is also very good, and I am looking forward to its sound performance. Just continue to wait for the sound card to arrive.
An entry-level professional sound card for 500 yuan
It is said that the price of entry-level sound cards has increased in the past two years, and you can buy a similar entry-level 2-in & 2-out professional sound card for 1,000 yuan, but I discovered the Sonicake brand, the official website is https://ift.tt/P43YSdt, and its official website is https://www.sonicake.com/ Product Sonic Cube https://www.sonicake.com/products/sonic-cube attracted me at first glance. I also saw several ups recommending it on Station B. I don’t know if it’s a genuine recommendation or a fee, but I think it’s a good idea to buy this one. So it arrived.
The little things are also very delicate, durable and have good workmanship.
But I connected bm1 and the sound card to the computer, turned on the familiar au, and also installed Studio One v6.0.1. I turned on the 48v phantom power switch on the sound card and found that the sound was really small…
No matter how I debug it, the sound is still very low. This sound card requires a driver on win, which can be downloaded from the official website. It is driver-free on mac, but in the end, I failed to achieve satisfactory results after working on it for several hours.
I also upgraded my mac to the latest system the next day. You should know that my 16-inch Intel MacBook Pro has never been upgraded since I bought it at the end of 2019. 
, in order to try to get some input levels from the microphone, I decided to upgrade my mac, but I was still disappointed after the upgrade. I contacted customer service on both sides, but neither could help me solve the problem.
There is no Input Level. The line 1 input gain on the sound card is adjusted to the maximum. There is some level, but the noise floor is also very loud… This is basically an unusable state.
Changed the sound card – Behringer umc202hd
I returned the Sonic Cube and bought a new Behringer umc202hd. But it does not change the fact that the input level is low. When recording with au, the waveform is very abnormal. I tried adjusting the amplitude, but the effect was very poor. The same goes for increasing the gain. As the sound gets louder, the noise floor will also increase. So frustrated, I decided to return them all.
After a few days of adjustment, I fell in love with another USB capacitor microphone that costs less than 100 yuan.
That’s right, this specification only costs less than 60 yuan. I saw that several B-sites recommended this model. There are actual records, and I feel that the effect is pretty good. The key is the price. What kind of bike do you want at this price? In addition, this was installed on 1688, so I installed 1688 (I had installed it before but uninstalled it) and placed an order.
However, it has not been shipped to me for 5 days. I am really speechless. The product page stated that it promised to be shipped within 3 days, so I went to make a claim, and then they compensated me 5 yuan.
The seller told me that the model I chose was not available, but there was a company customizing it with a customized logo and asked me if I wanted it, but I refused. I was also asked if I wanted an orange one, but I still refused…
Seven days later, the seller suggested that I cancel the order. Their factory had not yet scheduled production… I was also tired and didn’t want to wait any longer, so I canceled the order directly. Although the mental energy consumption was quite large and I had to wait for 7 days, I also received 5 yuan… which is quite appropriate as a mental damage fee.

Finally I can try recording a song
The first song is Zhou Xingzhe’s “I’m Very Happy”, which I won’t release here. I tried the effect of a dynamic microphone and found that I should definitely buy a dynamic microphone for my usage environment. Even a dynamic microphone costing more than 300 yuan can provide very good recording effects. And it doesn’t require maintenance, just work hard and it’s done.
The second song was recorded by Tao Zhe Liusha’s 2003 Soul Power version. I really love this version. The violin, drum set and harmonica are so beautiful. Audio manuscript has been submitted to Station B, welcome to listen to it 
There are still flaws in the singing, and I am not satisfied with it either. I need to improve my performance and improve my skills in the future. In addition, I am a novice in mixing. Currently, I only use low cut below 100hz, and add a little gain of 10k 7khz frequency, about 2-3db. The vocals and accompaniment are not well integrated. It is said that there are some ways to use Side Chain and other plug-ins that can help better integrate vocals and accompaniment. I will continue to study hard!
