At the 313th press conference on the prevention and control of the new coronavirus pneumonia in Beijing, Pang Xinghuo, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention and member of the National New Coronavirus Pneumonia Expert Group, introduced that the Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention Gene sequencing was performed on the specimens of infected persons 139, 140, 141, and 143. The results showed that the virus belonged to the Omicron variant. The virus sequences of the 4 infected persons were completely consistent, which was consistent with the recent clustering epidemic outside Beijing and spillover to other provinces and cities. The virus sequences are completely identical. Based on the comprehensive epidemiological investigation and gene sequencing results, it is preliminarily judged that the infected persons 140, 141, and 143 belong to the same transmission chain.
