According to the results of a surprise inspection by Japan’s Ministry of Transport, Toyota’s Hino Motor’s emissions fraud may not be limited to large trucks, but similar problems exist on small trucks. Hino has come under scrutiny for emissions from large trucks and has been accused of falsifying emissions data for nearly 20 years. Hino’s Dutro light truck, which may be one of the smaller trucks found to be problematic, has been on sale since 2019, with a total of about 76,000 units sold. If the Hino Dutro suspends shipments, Hino will have few more models sold in Japan. (Sina Finance)
