Huawei’s Mate 50 series of smartphones will be the first to include satellite communications before Apple. Huawei will release the Mate 50 mobile phone on September 6. Its satellite communication function is equipped with the Beidou short message communication radio frequency baseband integrated chip developed not long ago. The communication range of the chip covers the Asia-Pacific region. The navigation function of Beidou is free, but the short message is not, and it is not clear how much the short message will cost.
