The overall situation of IJCAI2022
The International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI) is one of the top international academic conferences in the field of artificial intelligence. Originally held in odd-numbered years, it has been held annually since 2016. This year marks the 31st International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence and the 25th European Conference on Artificial Intelligence (ECAI), which will be held in Vienna, Austria, on July 23-29, 2022.
Papers submitted to this year’s conference go through a two-round review process.

During the summary reject stage, each submitted paper receives two regular reviews. If the review comments are not sufficiently positive, the article will be rejected at this stage and will not be able to enter the full review process. In the full paper review stage, the paper is subject to further review, and the author can give a reply. The review comments and author’s reply at this stage will ultimately affect the program committee’s decision to accept the paper. After the author proposes a rebuttal, each paper is coordinated by an area chair with review discussions, and a meta review to summarize the proposal for advancement, in which SACs oversee the review of each paper, providing expertise and expertise as needed. Guidance, and consultative meta-reviews. SAC-AC’s dissertation review recommendations are then reviewed by the APCC (Joint Program Chair) and a final admission decision is made together with the PCC.
Compared with the acceptance rate as low as 12.6% (2020) and 13.9% (2021) in the previous two years, this year’s acceptance rate is slightly higher… But compared with the acceptance rate of 20%+ in 2018 and before, Or “the listener is sad, the hearer weeps”.
In addition, the conference also classified the report forms of accepted papers based on the interest and expectations of the audience. About 25% of papers are accepted as long presentations , and the remaining 75% are accepted as short presentations.

Did you win this IJCAI?
After this year’s IJCAI list was released, it caused a heated discussion among the contributors on Zhihu . Let’s take a look at what interesting things this year…
Is it accepted as short pre, is it related to the last update time of the paper status?
Some netizens used the scores and acceptance results released by the authors of the papers on the Internet as statistical samples, and found that the last modification time of the paper status was related to the paper being accepted as short/long pre? This is really mysterious. According to speculation, the last updated state between 16:55-17:05 Beijing time is accept short, and between 17:25-17:26 is accept long.

Undergraduate review manuscript undoubtedly?
The quality of reviewing papers at AI conferences has always been a big problem. There are too many unreliable reviewers, and there are often strange review comments and reasons for rejection. It is no wonder that every time it is suspected of being an undergraduate reviewer.

It really depends on luck if you want to meet a serious and fair reviewer. Many paper contributors turned on the spit mode to the reviewers of this conference.
The reviewer is not careful, does not read the content of the paper, and the review comments given are not informative:

This is the worst reviewer I have ever brought:

So, when will there be a mechanism for scoring reviewers? (doge.jpg)
Fancy rejected
It is normal for papers to be rejected, but if it seems unreasonable to be rejected, it is really confusing and regrettable.
On the related Zhihu topics of IJCAI2022, there are many high-scoring and rejected answers. I can’t understand it, but I am shocked…

Some contributing authors said that even after receiving positive review comments, they were eventually rejected:
“The paper was rejected, I don’t know why I got a positive review and still got this result.”

For such a result, the reviewer said: I do not understand
As a reviewer, I just saw the results of the paper I reviewed. It looks like this year is going to be tough, as two papers in my review batch that had an overall positive review were rejected.

The paper reviewed by a meta reviewer was eventually rejected, questioning the significance of the rebuttal mechanism:
I now think that rebuttals are a waste of time for both authors and reviewers. I know some decisions may change, but the amount of work it entails doesn’t seem worth it to me.
There are also rejected authors who have begun to seek other submission channels:
