India blocks VLC player project

India blocked the website and download link of the VLC player project, and Indian users visiting the website displayed the message “The website has been blocked by order of the Ministry of Electronic Information Technology under the IT Act 2000”. India has not publicly announced the blockade of VLC. Indian media said the reason behind it is that the platform was launched by China to the hacker group Cicada. Security experts found that Cicada used VLC players to deploy malicious program loaders. Jean-Baptiste Kempf, chairman of the VideoLAN Foundation, which developed VLC, said that the blockade started on February 13, 2022. They asked the Indian government but received no response. It is strange that some Indian ISPs blocked VLC but some ISPs did not. .
