Indonesian gamers woke up stunned as the government blocked popular gaming platforms such as Steam and Epic. However, they soon discovered that the blockade was relatively rudimentary and could be bypassed by modifying DNS or using a VPN. India’s Ministry of Communications recently issued a regulation requiring foreign tech companies offering services in Indonesia to be registered in the country. None of the blocked foreign websites are registered in Indonesia. PayPal has just signed up, but its service is still unavailable in Indonesia, and it may take time to lift the blockade.
