According to reports, information on social media shows that Tesla will upgrade the batteries of Model 3 and Model Y next year. Some models will use 4680 batteries, and some will use blade batteries supplied by BYD. Tesla plans to add two new types of batteries to the rear-wheel-drive versions of the Model 3 and Model Y, the BYD-produced lithium iron phosphate blade battery and the Model 3 Performance battery, with a battery capacity of 70 kWh. All-wheel-drive and high-performance versions of the Model 3 and Model Y are scheduled to upgrade to 4680 batteries. (TechWeb)
