Maintainer’s presence in Russia raises concerns about kernel NTFS driver

Linux 5.15 , released late last year, incorporates the NTFS3 kernel driver developed by Paragon Software and improves support for Microsoft’s NTFS file system. Paragon promises that it will maintain the NTFS3 driver, and despite the growing list of patches submitted over the past few months, the maintainers have not been making major updates to the driver or submitting fixes upstream. The maintainers did not respond to any news of the fix, nor did they respond to suggestions from other kernel developers to jointly maintain the driver. Defenders living in Russia may be a big reason for all of this.
