In fact, I am quite confident in the server myself. In the past 20 years, the server has not changed much. Intel’s CPUs are constantly changing, but the server is still the same.
Optane is a relatively special thing launched by intel.
- Cooper Lake on 14nm process corresponds to Optane AEP 100S
- Ice Lake on 10nm process corresponds to Optane BPS 200 S, released in April 2021
- 10nm++ process Sapphire Rapids (Spr platform) corresponds to Optane Crow Pass (not released)
The capacity of Optane, 128G, 256G, and 512G, is relatively common. The long one is the same as the memory, which is inserted into the memory slot of the server. And it must work with DDR memory. If only Optane memory is inserted, without DDR, it will not work.
