Pfizer says improved Covid-19 booster significantly increases antibody levels

Pfizer has released preliminary findings on the new booster, saying its updated Covid-19 booster significantly increased antibodies against the virus in adults. The most prevalent strains of the new coronavirus around the world are Omicron and its subspecies. Pfizer and its partner BioNTech reported a 13-fold increase in antibody levels in people 55 and older and a 9.5-fold increase in younger adults after a month of injection with the new booster shot for Omicron. The injections were administered approximately 11 months after the participants’ last vaccination. It’s not yet known how much protection the new booster needles will provide in the real world, or how long their effects will last. Research is ongoing, and antibody levels in vaccinated recipients diminish over time.
