We all know that Japanese master Katsushika Hokusai’s “The Great Wave of Kanagawa” is one of the most popular works of all time. But what is not known is that he also created another work with waves, “Soft Waves”. So, we present it today! ?

The piece depicts a towering, curly wave. Katsushika Hokusai is clearly fascinated by the changing forms of water; some of his other artworks also depict water, usually his wave painting captures the dynamic waves in an almost photographic form, so we can see each Tiny curls.

Katsushika Hokusai also created a work alongside “The Soft Wave”: “The Masculine Wave”. They are subtly different, with the male energy and combat of “Male Waves” transformed into something more peaceful and inclusive in “Feminine Waves”.
