In Hangzhou in April, the weather is cloudy and cloudy like a child whose mind has not yet formed. It is clear that the first few days are still sunny, but the next few days will be cloudy and rainy; And when the temperature is comfortable, go to Xixi Valley and walk along the mountain slow road ~

Location introduction

Xixi Valley was probably founded in 2011. It is the main platform for financial technology innovation in Hangzhou and a concentration area for the blockchain industry. The scope of the first phase extends to the Yuquan Campus of Zhejiang University in the east, to the foothills of the Shili Longji Landscape Belt in the south, to the west line of the left city ring in the west, and to Tianmu Mountain Road (including Gudang Science and Technology Park) in the north; the second phase of construction will be carried out during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period. Expand westward to the junction of Xiaohe Mountain and Xianlin.

The Xixi Valley slow-walking path we took along the mountain is located in the first phase of Xixi Valley – starting from the Shuangkou Well, more than 300 meters west of the “Laohe Yunqi” in Gudang in the east, and leaving Ximuwu in the west, with a total length of about 13 km or so. As it is adjacent to the Shili Longji landscape belt, there are many mountain passes along the way.

In the Xixi Valley, there are eighteen docks along the mountain, and this greenway connects most of them; in the Republic of China, these eighteen docks were the peach blossom gardens of Hangzhou, and each dock had springs, plums, bamboos, tea, Flowers, nunneries, temples, stories and tombs of famous people.

walking process

After breakfast, I tidied up my backpack—make sure that I have brought (enough) emergency supplies, sunscreen, dry food, water and other necessities; this time there are basically no mountain roads, and I will not take trekking poles, knee pads, ankle pads, etc. ; Prepare for a rainy day and pack a jacket and raincoat.

Everything is ready and ready to go!

Go to Shuangkoujing

Take the bus and transfer to Metro Line 3 and get off at Gudang Station. take advantage of ? When I went to the bathroom, I opened the AutoNavi map to see which exit I should go out from; I saw “under construction” around Exit B. I thought it was under construction and I couldn’t go out, so I waited. ? Exit the station through Exit A.

After reaching the ground, ? I saw that I could cross the road to the opposite side, looked at Exit B and asked, “Why don’t we get out from there?”

I carefully observed the environment around Exit B. There is indeed a place under construction, but the exit is normal. At this time, I realized that I made a mistake in my judgment just now… (Hold your head, don’t hit me… … ? )

Cross the road and walk westward for more than 300 meters to the upper pass of Laohe Mountain, under the “Laohe Yunqi” archway.

"Laohe Yunqi" archway
“Laohe Yunqi” archway

Passing by Tuerquan on the way, I saw a local villager-like aunt washing clothes, and the smell of soap floated a few meters away…

Go westward for more than 300 meters to reach Shuangkoujing Lane. When you go in, there is a pavilion with “Xixi Valley” written on it, and the plaque on the other side says “Yunxiu Pavilion”. The start of the walkway.

The photo above was taken with HTC Sensation when I went there for the first time in 2013. When I go again now, the pavilion and trail have not changed much. The biggest difference is that there is an extra small house on the right.

Shuangkou Well to Baoxian Temple

Passing through the pavilion, the trees on both sides seem to be lining up to welcome; when you walk out of the corner, you can see that the “welcome team” with green as the main color and dotted with yellow, orange, red and other colors is quite long, and you can’t see the end at a glance. They are so passionate that we are quickly immersed in them and deeply healed.

Before I walked a few steps, I saw a public toilet next to the big rock with the green paint written “Xixi Valley Slow Walking Road along the Mountain”. Not only the public toilet, but also a few trash cans on the outer edge, for people walking, The facilities provided for activities such as running or cycling are very complete!

We walked slowly, and less than 20 minutes had passed since the starting point, and my stomach began to growl… I saw that the time was almost 12 o’clock, no wonder! I took my compressed biscuits out of my backpack and ate them as I walked, ? She wasn’t hungry yet, so she didn’t take out her soda crackers.

Just at this time, I saw the pavilion hidden behind the trees, and there was a road beside it, which could lead to Jiangjun Mountain through Qinting Mountain; when I took a closer look, it turned out to be the first landscape on this slow road—the forest quiet.

Continuing to walk leisurely, I have already eaten two or three compressed biscuits. I ate the small colorful packages from Guanshengyuan, not the big silver ones, but don’t get me wrong that I can eat them very well!

In a blink of an eye, I saw the second landscape – green peaks and emerald greens.

Every now and then, during our walk, we passed other people—young, old; walking, running. When I saw those people practicing running, it reminded me that I watched a lot of videos related to marathon and trail running in the past few days.

At this time, ? As if seeing through what I was thinking: “Shall we run together too?”

I paused for a few seconds and said, “Okay!”

Before I ran for a while, I felt my body warmed up and sweated a little; when I was walking, I didn’t feel hot at all, let alone sweating.

I forgot where I saw a question about “Does walking count as exercise?” I remember someone replied: “If you just walk instead of brisk walking, it is not considered exercise.”

Thinking about it now, it seems reasonable.

After running for a few sections intermittently, I saw a pavilion after passing the Zhejiang University Science and Technology Park, and reached the third landscape – Baoxian Sanskrit.

Baoxian Sanskrit (taken in 2013)

The yellow wall that turns around is the Baoxian Temple with a long history. It is said that it was built in the Wuyue period of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, with a history of thousands of years.

From Shuangkoujing to Baoxian Temple is a continuous walking path, and no other roads have been inserted in the middle, but there is a road called “Baoxian Lane” that cuts off the walking path; after passing through, enter another section, is A relatively gentle slope.

Baoxian Temple to Majiawu

Passing through the two landscapes of “Stream Lianzhu” and “Pine Path Feixia” that can go up to Beauty Mountain, the front view becomes wider, because the trees on both sides of the trail gradually become shorter tea trees.

Before arriving at the sixth landscape of “Green Cloud in Tea Garden”, I discovered the office building of Space A of Ant Group, which was trying to hide among the tea fields.

Ant Group A Space

In the tea fields, apart from scattered tea farmers who seem to be picking tea leaves, there are also passers-by who don’t know what they want to do.

Not long after, we walked to Taoyuanwu, went to the toilet and then continued to Majiawu opposite Lingxi North Road.

When walking the ” West Lake Love Line – West Lake Heart “, we saw a plank road area in the southwest direction that we had never seen before on Lingfeng Mountain. After checking the information, we found that it was probably at the viewing platform at the top of the pot – Nafu Yuntai .

Found "Nafu Yuntai" (video screenshot)
Found “Nafu Yuntai” (video screenshot)

The entrance to the plank road of the viewing platform is in the depths of Majiawu. Since we saw it that time, we have been planted grass, so we decided to take a look at it – this is the only mountain road in this itinerary.

Pulling the weeds to enjoy the blessings of the cloud platform

Entering the Majiawu Archway, you will see several forked roads, just take the one facing the archway; go straight to the end and turn left, cross the small stone bridge to the upper mountain pass, and walk a short distance to the plank road .

When I was approaching the top of the mountain, I suddenly realized that I shouldn’t go this way—if I go up the mountain from Majiawu, I have to go back the same way, so I took the repeated route! In addition to Majiawu, you can also go to the viewing platform from other places, such as going up the mountain from Taoyuanwu.

I hope that other people who want to take the slow walk along the mountain in Xixi Valley and go to the viewing platform at the same time can learn from it.

The view from the observation deck is really amazing! You can overlook the Xixi Wetland in the west, and the water surface of the West Lake in the east; if the visibility is good, you can also distinguish the buildings of the West Lake Cultural Square.

While staying on the viewing platform, I saw a black bird a few meters away. It looked big when it spread its wings, and I thought it was an eagle; after soaring for a while, it landed on the guardrail not far away, and observed it According to the head features, it may be a crow.

finished recording ? After watching the desired video, and turning around without any dead ends, we went down the mountain contentedly. Having said that, there is still a pity – there is no drone, otherwise the whole picture of the viewing platform can be taken as much as possible! (Mini Mayou, Money Go My Home!)

When preparing to go down the mountain and on the way down the mountain, many people came one after another. Fortunately, there were almost no other people when we recorded the video…

Majiawu to Xiaolongjuwu

Go out of Majiawu and go forward for a while, there is a not very wide road on the left, turn into it; this road gradually begins to slope, because the next section of the road is actually on the side of a small hill. Turn left at the end.

Soon, another pavilion appeared in front of us. It stood in the guardrail on the edge of the “cliff”, and on the other side was a tea field where tea farmers were working. Eight Landscapes – Serving Tea in the Pavilion.

There is a stone table and several stone benches inside and outside the pavilion, where you can sit down with others, drink tea, chat, play chess, and experience the comfort of slow time.

After a few steps forward, I saw a small white board full of characters inserted in the vegetable field below from the guardrail like an ancient city wall. less loss…

Then there is a gentle slope all the way. When approaching the boundary of Wangjiawu, there is a statue of a figure with braids from the Qing Dynasty on the right side. Looking at the introduction next to it, we know that it is Li E, a writer of the Qing Dynasty! It turns out that this is the ninth landscape – Li E chants.

Due to the slightly many fork roads and the lack of clear markings on the map, we were a little dizzy in Wangjiawu; we tried several times everywhere, and finally figured out the correct way——

Go forward to the intersection at the statue of Li E, turn left until the end and then turn left again; after a few steps, you will see a gate with a “No Passing” sign in front of it, then turn right; go to the end and there is another gate , turn right again, and the road after that is very clear.

This road leads to Dongyue Temple and Fahua Temple, so it can be regarded as a “uphill” road with a steep slope. It can be said that this is the steepest and most difficult section of the slow-moving road along the mountain in Xixi Valley!

Out of the maze, around the detour, a heavily armed cyclist overtook us from behind. Although it was uphill, he rode effortlessly, and disappeared at the next corner in the blink of an eye.

Cyclists (video screenshot)

When I was about to reach the top of the slope, I saw the pavilion again; on the rocks surrounded by flowers on the roadside was written “Fa Hua Zao Mei”, which is the tenth landscape of the slow road.

Across the road and surrounded by blue tiles and red walls is the Dongyue Temple. There is a building inside with the words “Feng Tiao Yu Shun” written on the beams. But the wall is a bit short, it hasn’t reached my chest, and I haven’t seen any defensive measures, so it’s easy for people with ulterior motives to climb over it.

Going down to the bottom of the slope is near the big archway of Fahua Temple. The distance between Dongyue Temple and Fahua Temple is so close. It is estimated that every year and festival when people pray for blessings, the place will be so crowded…

If you go under the big archway of Fahua Temple and go straight to the end, you can go up the mountain and go straight to the North Peak; but the way we are going to go next, just pass in front of the archway.

Fahua Temple Archway (video screenshot)

After passing the corner, I saw a statue of two people together next to an upper mountain pass; they were one in front of the other, and the one in the back seemed to discourage the one in the front from going its own way. This is the eleventh landscape – Mulian Quanshan.

I took a closer look: ” ? , do you think the one in the back looks like Tang Seng? ”

? expressed strong approval.

At this time, two women walked towards them, and they brought three little poodles, very cute—two black-haired ones, and one brown-haired and smaller one. Among them, the feeling of the brown hair is a bit problematic, because its back looks a little arched, not as straight as the other two, like a hunchback.

In front of you is Xiaolongjuwu—the midpoint of the two continuous slopes connecting the big archway of Fahua Temple and Dalongjuwu.

Xiaolongjuwu to Jinyujing

There is a parking lot at Xiaolongjuwu, and there is a fork in the entrance. The small slope on the left with a convex mirror to check the road conditions is the way to go.

Roadside convex mirror (video screenshot)

Not long after I climbed the small slope, a colorful natural landscape came into view—yellow pollen-like things were scattered unevenly on the ground; the woods and grass on both sides were based on green, mixed with yellow, orange, Red and other colors – along the way, similar scenes appear in front of you from time to time.

Five-Color Trail (video screenshot)
Five-Color Trail (video screenshot)

The road leading to Dalongjuwu is relatively flat. I have encountered cyclists many times, and I have met the same person three times. I thought he was practicing here; There are also tombstones next to the roadside, and you can see one every few meters…

At the end of the road there is a school with the words “Hangzhou Dianzi University” on the gate. It seems to be a branch campus, and there is a mountain pass leading to Meiren Peak nearby.

There is a small road near the school gate, and there is a small bridge not far after turning in, sharp-eyed ? I found the only dandelion left by the guardrail; it is so rare to see, it is natural to shoot a beautiful and romantic video, and at the same time help it sow seeds.

The main character who helped sow the seeds was non ? No doubt, as a “photographer”, my idea was to blow to the upper right, so I placed the dandelion in the lower left of the center of the picture; segment collapse…

After crossing the bridge, there is a winding uphill, maybe because the trees are too dense, or maybe because there are no residents around, but there is a funeral parlor. Walking here has a cold feeling. If it is at night, it may be cold. Feeling spooky…

As we walked, the sun shone in on a gentle road, as if it was the light of hope; at this moment, there was an atmosphere, and I wanted to shoot a video of two people holding hands and walking together, hoping to overcome difficulties and welcome happiness together future wish.

So far, we have walked about 2/3 of the slow walking path along the mountain in Xixi Valley. Counting the round trip to Nafuyuntai, we have walked about 12 kilometers; I don’t feel tired, but the soles of my feet hurt a little from walking.

After walking on for a while, when we approached Jinyu Well, the field of vision became wider, and there was a viewing platform where we could sit and rest.

Saddle stone carving (video screenshot)

The big saddle made of rocks on the viewing platform is the thirteenth landscape – Deep Dock Dragon Return.

According to legend, Zhao Gou once raised a steed, which was a trophy when he went hunting. Later, because of his bravery and skill in fighting, Zhao Gou was deeply favored by Emperor Gaozong. One day, Emperor Gaozong rode his favorite horse on the Xixi Road. When he arrived at Zhaoshanwu, the horse suddenly broke away from the rein and ran into the dock without a trace. So Gaozong believed that the horse had returned to his hometown.

Because of this, Zhaoshanwu was renamed Longguiwu. Later, due to the change of pronunciation, Longguiwu gradually became Longjuwu. And now the landscape node “Shenwu Longgui” on the slow road along the mountain in Xixi Valley is also derived from this story.

The above is the source of the name of the big and small Longjuwu just passing by and the current landscape “Shenwu Longgui”.

Goldfish Well to Simwood

While resting on the viewing platform, we ate all the remaining biscuits to replenish our energy; after the pain in the soles of the feet relieved a bit, we set off for the last part of the journey and headed to the final destination, Simwood!

After descending from the viewing platform to the bottom of the slope, I came to a building that seemed to be under construction, and walked a few meters to a statue with several people gathered together. Because of its image, I followed ? “It looks like a primitive man,” joked.

This statue is actually the fourteenth landscape – Lin’s Rescue of Zhao.

Lin's rescue of Zhao (picture from the West Lake District Portal)
Lin’s rescue of Zhao (picture from the West Lake District Portal )

Regarding this landscape, there is also a story related to Zhao Gou——

In 1127, Yan Zongbi of Jin Wan wanted to take advantage of the fact that the Southern Song regime was not stable, and sent a large army across the river in an attempt to eliminate the Southern Song Dynasty. After chasing after Panban and Pingyao in Yuhang to the Xixi area of Lin’an Prefecture (now Hangzhou), Zhu He, the magistrate of Qiantang County, led the militia to fight. Casualties were heavy. When Zhao Gou, king of Kang, fled to Xixi Linjiapeng (now Jinyujing Community, Liao Street, Xihu District), he met five brothers including villager Lin Tinglei. Jin Bing chased him but found nothing, Zhao Gou survived, but the five Lin brothers were all killed by Jin Bing. This is the story of “The Lin Brothers Rescue Zhao” that has been passed down to this day in Xixi.

West Lake District Portal Website ” [Xixi Eighteen Wharfs] Zhao Gou Takes Refuge in Dalongjuwu

The local people also built temples for the five brothers of the Lin family to enshrine. – Lin Tingzhen; Wufang Tugu Temple – Lin Tingfei.

Among them, the Wufang Temple is next to a public toilet on the mountain in the Yangjia archway, and it is also the nineteenth landscape – Wufang Fufu.

On the way to the Yangjia Archway through Jinyujing, I don’t like to look at the things under my feet when I walk. ? stepped on a lump ? According to her description, the feet felt soft and slippery at the time, which was very unnatural… ???

from ? Judging from its characteristics and location, it should belong to a dog. Just a few meters away, a medium-sized soil dog came towards us. I asked loudly, “Wangcai! Are you the culprit?!” It tucked its tail and slipped away… ???

At that time, there was still some distance between the public toilet next to the Wufang Temple. ? Probably very disgusted with myself. When you see a public toilet, you rush in and rinse the soles of your shoes as if you have met a lifesaver.

After she came out, she conducted an exclusive interview (see the end of the video for details):

O'Reilly TV Small Theater (Video Screenshot)
O’Reilly TV Small Theater (Video Screenshot)

The Yangjia Archway was originally called Shirenwu, and it is a very large community. It is so big that there are bus lines in it, so big that we feel like we have been walking for a long time…

People here will plant tea trees along the mountains and build tombs, and some tombs are in the middle of the tea bushes; this may be the custom of the local people, and they certainly don’t mind, but I don’t know if the people who buy their tea will mind?

After going down the slope and walking on the flat ground, I saw a large piece of open land, where there is a bus station, and there are signs of “Shirenwu” and “Sanxiang Ancient Road” at the entrance.

If you go in from the “Sanxiang Ancient Road” archway and walk inward, you will arrive at Yongxing Temple. There are two roads – the left one leads to Longmen Mountain, and the other goes straight. Walk to Shiren Pavilion, choose the one on the right and you will be near the lion cage.

We neither go to Yongxing Temple nor go up the mountain, so we continue to walk around the Yangjia Archway.

Just when I felt some pain in the soles of my feet again, I saw a pavilion next to a public toilet for resting, so I sat down to take a break for a while on the grounds of using a power bank to charge my phone.

There is an intersection in the front right, and entering is the road leading to the end point; apart from feeling the luxury of the high-end neighborhoods next to it, there is nothing else on this road…

When you see the pavilion again, it is the last landscape “Fusheng nostalgia”, and it is also the end of the Xixi Valley’s slow walking path along the mountain – Ximuwu!

epilogue

This article is a more detailed supplement to the VLOG . You can watch the video to experience our more vivid experience:

This greenway is very suitable for walking, hiking, running and cycling; if you want to go out for a walk on weekends and holidays to inhale oxygen, but don’t want to follow the crowds in popular scenic spots, this is a good choice.

In the process of walking, if you feel that the flat ground is not exciting enough and challenging, you can go up the mountain at any time, and there are many mountain passes; it is recommended to take a look at Nafu Yuntai, but because it is also a check-in spot for Internet celebrities, there may be many people.

There are no shops along the way (there may be small shops in Majiawu), so it is best to bring your own water.
