Terra.do raises $5 million in seed funding

Terra.do is an online climate school, an online education platform that helps global talent upskill and work together to tackle and solve the daunting global climate change problem. Terra.do offers students a 12-week, 10-hour weekly online video course in a variety of subject areas including science, policy, business, social justice, and more by recruiting mentors or professors with outstanding achievements in their fields. Students have the opportunity to find future employers, colleagues or co-founders through study groups, and have access to dozens of top climate projects around the world upon graduation. Announced the close of a $5 million seed round. The round was led by climate fund Avaana Capital and included participation from SIG, TELUS Pollinator Fund for Good, Precursor, BEENEXT, City Light, Hummingbird Firm and Avesta. In keeping with the company’s community-focused ethos, the round complements traditional venture capital funds, with participation from more than 150 entities and individuals residing in more than a dozen countries.
