The third aircraft carrier was launched at the Jiangnan Shipyard of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, Xinhua reported . It was named Fujian Ship , and its hull number is “18”. It is the first catapult-type aircraft carrier designed and built entirely by China. It adopts a straight and long flight deck, is equipped with electromagnetic catapult and blocking devices, and has a full-load displacement of more than 80,000 tons. After the ship is launched, mooring tests and sailing tests will be carried out as planned. The previous two aircraft carriers were the Liaoning (formerly the Ukrainian Varyag), which was commissioned in 2012, and the Shandong, which was commissioned in 2019.
