Two containers were found to have the same number

This is a rare accident in the field of international maritime transport: two containers arriving at Chittagong in Bangladesh were found to have the same number SLHU4500470, but different seal numbers, 001535 and GTS 005946. For identification, tracking and destination determination, containers are assigned a unique number by ISO through the International Bureau of Containers. The first container was unloaded at the port on July 4, and the second was unloaded on Wednesday, and the container terminal management system used by the port immediately found that the two numbers were identical. One of the containers shipped photovoltaic water pumps, and the other was computer peripherals such as printers, scanners, and mice. Both containers are owned by Sea Lloyd (the first four characters of the number are the company), which says both are made in China, which ordered 50 containers from Shanghai Baoshan Pacific Containers in January 2020 , ordered another 50 in 2021 from another company, SMC Group HK Ltd. The manufacturer was found to have reused 5 identifiers.
