UK suspect steals cryptocurrency by robbing mobile phone

British police have warned suspects that cryptocurrencies are being targeted for robbery , with victims reporting thousands of pounds worth of cryptocurrency stolen. One victim claimed to have hailed an Uber car near London’s Liverpool Street station, but criminals forced them to hand over their phones, and when they got them back, they found $6,150 worth of ether had been transferred from a Coinbase account. In another case, a group of people approached a man dealing in cocaine, and together they went down an alley to do it, and he was forced to unlock his phone, access a cryptocurrency account, and transfer $7,400 worth of Ripple. Another man was forced to unlock his smartphone with his fingerprint and was robbed of $35,000, including cryptocurrency.
