Vibrant Planet raises $17 million in seed funding

Vibrant Planet, a nonprofit forest management service, provides a range of datasets, centered on a lidar map of California, using data-driven science and cloud-based technologies to help communities and ecosystems become more resilient to climate change . The company works to help planners and policymakers save lives, avoid trillions of dollars in infrastructure damage, and restore the ability of natural systems to store carbon, provide clean water, support biodiversity, local economies and recreational habits. Vibrant Planet recently announced a $17 million seed round led by Ecosystem Integrity Fund and The Jeremy and Hannelore Grantham Environmental Trust, with participation from Valia Ventures, Earthshot Ventures (backed by Laurene Powell Jobs and Tom Steyer), Cisco Foundation, Halogen Ventures, Day One Ventures followed suit.
