WHO says coronavirus deaths have dropped 90% in nine months

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that the organization received more than 9,400 new crown-related deaths last week, compared with the 75,000 global weekly deaths received in February this year, a drop of nearly 90% in nine months. He expressed cautious optimism, while calling on governments around the world to remain vigilant. The World Health Organization said the number of new cases of the new crown exceeded 2.1 million last week, a 15% decrease from the previous week; the number of deaths fell 10%. Japan had the most new cases, with more than 400,000, followed by South Korea, the United States, Germany and China.
