Wii U emulator Cemu open source

The Wii U emulator project Cemu has been announced as open source, and the source code is hosted on GitHub under the Mozilla Public License 2.0 license. The developer also announced Cemu 2.0, indicating that it will provide a Linux build version, but currently users need to compile it themselves, and plan to provide appimage or flatpak packaging formats in the future. The Cemu project has also simplified version numbers from the previous three digits to two digits, so the next versions after Cemu 2.0 are Cemu 2.1 and 2.2, not Cemu 2.1.0. Developers admit that one of the reasons for choosing open source is that development has stagnated, another senior developer of the project has withdrawn, and Cemu’s popularity has also decreased, from more than one million users at its peak to about 250,000 downloads per month. The developer hopes that through open source someone will take over if he quits.
