Air Canada is reportedly buying 30 ES-30 electric planes from startup Heart Aerospace. Under the agreement, in addition to buying the planes, Air Canada will acquire a $5 million stake in the manufacturer. When fully loaded, the ES-30 electric aircraft can fly 200 kilometers on batteries, and if the number of passengers is reduced to 25, it can be extended to 400 kilometers and up to 800 kilometers with the supplementary power of the generator. The aircraft will enter service in 2028 for regional commercial operations. (TechWeb)
