Amazon buys iRobot for $1.7 billion

Amazon bought iRobot, maker of Roomba, for $1.7 billion. It’s Amazon’s fourth-largest acquisition to date: Whole Foods for $13.7 billion in 2017; MGM in 2021 for $8.45 billion; and One Medica for $3.9 billion last month. Founded in Delaware in 1990, iRobot designs and manufactures military robots, commercial robots, medical robots and household robots, and is best known for its Roomba, an automatic household vacuum cleaner.
