BMW is offering heated seat subscriptions in select countries, the latest example of a car company introducing a microtransaction model for premium vehicles. Front seat heating costs $18 a month for a monthly subscription, with an optional $180 annual or $300 three-year subscription, or $415 for unlimited usage. It’s unclear in which countries BMW offers these subscriptions, with reports that it has already launched in South Korea. Since 2020, BMW has put more and more features behind the subscription model.
