Been to Chicago once before but didn’t visit this museum. Mainly because I am doing scientific research myself, this museum is not so interesting. I have been in Chicago for a long time this time, so I went to see it.
Impressive is this German nuclear submarine captured in World War II:
It is huge. According to the documentary playing on the side, the entire museum is a venue where nuclear submarines are first placed next to the main museum and then built.
There are also some games that simulate driving a submarine. You can go on a submarine, but if you want money, I don’t go.
In the posters at that time, the Soviet Union and the Republic of China were at the forefront.
In the main hall, we saw Apollo 8, and it was not until the 11th that it successfully landed on the moon. The previous ones all failed.
This Apollo 8 is the real thing that was salvaged. There are three seats in it. Looking at the small space and the humble seats, it is hard to imagine how courageous people at that time used this thing to go to the moon. The claustrophobic certainly can’t sit on this.
A small piece of lunar soil. Some time ago, China used the Chang’e spacecraft to get the lunar soil for the first time, but the United States… should have put it away for a long time.
The strange triangular prism device has produced several rainbow columns.
In the tornado simulator, you can see the smoke pillars that go straight to the ceiling from a distance, which is very shocking. The buttons on the side can adjust the wind force at each height and change the shape of the tornado.
There are also some life science-related displays. Here, the appearance of human embryos at various stages is shown, as shown in the figure: 11 weeks and 2 days. To be honest, a row of this kind of thing looks really scary.
There are also some other devices in the museum, most of which can be interactive. It would be interesting if you bring children here. This time, I happened to meet the Lego special exhibition, so I bought an extra ticket to go in and see it, and it was quite worth it after reading it.
Divided into two halves, this half is mainly used to imitate world famous paintings and sculptures with Lego.
The other hall has some new things created by LEGO, and some of the simulations of fabrics and soft things are amazing.
