China Meteorological Administration tries to use drones to artificially rain in Sichuan

Sichuan has experienced both high temperatures and dry weather over the past few months, with river water levels dropping to very low levels and forest fires in many places. In order to alleviate the local drought, the Wing Loong-2H drone of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) on Thursday participated in the large-scale drone artificial rain enhancement operation carried out by the Weather Modification Center of the China Meteorological Administration and the Sichuan Meteorological Bureau. The drone flew for a total of 3 hours and 50 minutes, using 20 silver iodide flame bars. It is predicted that the drought in Sichuan will last until the 29th, and the meteorological department will closely monitor the meteorological conditions, seize the opportunity, and continue to carry out artificial precipitation operations.
